Η CSK απέτυχε έξι τρεξίματα εναντίον του Rajasthan Royals, από τότε που το κακό πεδίο και σιγά -σιγά άρχισε να ακολουθεί την πλευρά της Ruuraja Gaykvada.
Chennai Super Kings captain Ruturaj Gaikwad expressed concerns over his team’s lack of strong starts in the ongoing IPL 2025, following their 6-run loss to Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on Sunday night. Despite a 63-run knock from Gaikwad, CSK couldn’t reach the target of 183, ending at 176/6. Gaikwad admitted at the post-match presentation, “We haven’t been getting good starts, but once we do, things will be different. We also conceded 8-10 extra runs through misfields, and that’s something we need to improve.”
Batting strategy and challenges
On CSK’s batting strategy, Gaikwad explained why he batted at No. 3. “Over the years, Ajinkya batted at three while Rayudu handled the middle overs. We thought it would be better if I came in later to steady things, while Tripathi could attack upfront. It was decided at the auction, and I have no problem with it. Anyway, I’m getting to bat early in every game,” he said with a smile.
Rajasthan Royals’ crucial win
Rajasthan Royals’ stand-in skipper Riyan Parag, who was leading the team in his hometown, expressed relief after securing their first win of the season. Parag noted, “We felt we were 20 short. We were going well in the middle overs but lost a couple of quick wickets. However, our bowlers executed our plans well.”
Fielding efforts shine through
Parag also emphasised the importance of fielding in compensating for the runs they were short of, with impressive performances from players like Dishant Yagnik. He added, “Fielding makes up for the 20 runs that we were short. We have been working with Dishant Yagnik, our fielding coach. So it shows.” The Royals’ fielding saw a superb display from Riyan Parag as he took outstanding catch to dismiss Shivam Dube and Shimron Hetmyer’s catch that ended MS Dhoni’s late efforts.
