Ricky Ponting is of the first faction. He had no doubt that Jaiswal was out despite the umpire having no conclusive evidence of Jaiswal edging the ball. “They can make of it what they like. That clearly hit the glove. As far as I’m concerned, there’s no argument whatsoever,” Ponting said live on air.
Simon Taufel in agreement with Ponting
Simon Taufel, one of the most respected umpires of all time, agrees with Ponting on this front as well. Although the technology didn’t give an answer, to him, the umpire was right to go with his instinct. “In my view, that decision was out. The third umpire did make the correct decision in the end,” Taufel told 7Cricket.
