Τα αυστραλιανά μέσα ενημέρωσης συνεχίζουν να κυνηγούν τον Virat Kohli μετά τον καβγά του με τον Sam Constas
In the poem ‘My Heart Leaps Up’ William Wordsworth used the idiom ‘The Child is Father of the Man’ as a metaphor. However, Australian media have taken these words as a literal meaning. On the back page of Sunday Times, Aussie media have apparently placed a picture of Sam Konstas with the headline ‘Virat, I’m your Father’.
Australian media continues to be fixated on Virat Kohli and his altercation with young opener Sam Konstas. While the IND vs AUS 4th Test continues to take a turn, the Aussie media continues to remain fixated on an issue that happened roughly 4 days ago.
Questions definitely will be raised with Aussie media’s fixation on Virat Kohli. But then again they very well that the name and the brand ‘Kohli’ sells best. And probably that is why they continue to draw out his name at every given opportunity.
On Day 1 of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, Kohli and Konstas had a clash for which the ICC fined the Indian batter 20% of his match fees. The ICC also slapped Kohli with 1 demerit point. Right after the incident, the Aussie media went on to claim Kohli as a joker and clown.
But frankly, that incident is way past. Eventually on Day 3 of the Test, Nitish Kumar Reddy came out with all guns blazing as he turned the tide on the hosts. The young all-rounder slammed his maiden Test century to bring back the visitors into the contest. With 2 days remaining, the hosts will try hard to etch out a win, but that can look quite far-fetched, given the pitch has nothing much to offer for the bowlers.
